2018 Reflection and Goal-Setting


As the year 2018 begins to wrap up, I am taking the month to sort of mindfully recap the year that has just gone by. I wanted to share with you some of the ways I reflect upon the past year and set goals for the upcoming year as well! So, get a pen and paper and feel free to steal this part of my brain for your own use!

  1. 1. I ask myself the important questions:
  2. What was the most memorable part of 2018? What made it so memorable? How does that memory make you feel?

What were the THREE biggest lessons you learned this year?

Are you happy with how you spent your time this past year? What are steps you can take to adjust any areas in which you see imbalance?

How are you different than you were at the beginning of 2018?

Who and what are you extremely grateful for this year? (This list is usually SUPER long for me!!)

2. I set the goals for next year:

I am a firm believer in sharing SOME of your goals and ideas, but not all. So feel free to share any with me that you like, or none at all. This year, one that I am able to share is my goal of improving my mindfulness and presence and holding a practice of meditating daily. Here is how I set my other goals:

Business: What areas of my business do I want to focus on? What events does my business have to look forward to being a part of in 2019? What areas do I want to grow my business? What steps will I take to do those things? What have I always wanted to do but have been too afraid to so far?

Personal: I take into account my health and wellness goals, emotional and relationship goals, as well as mindset and personal development goals. I also like to write out a loose plan of which books are most important to me to read during the year. Of course, new exciting books pop up all the time, but this is just a way to get the ball rolling.

Educational/Professional Development: This is sort of outside of everyday Tucked in Organics business life. It’s new connections, existing connections, and growing my self on a professional level in new ways. What do I want to learn? What new opportunities will I give myself to learn something I didn’t even know that I didn’t know it?

When setting your goals, it’s important to ask yourself what feeds you and makes you feel alive? What areas do you want to improve and what are REALISTIC and measurable ways to do so?

I want to share ONE MORE goal with you, before I go! My colleague, Nutrition Coach Kate Cretsinger and I (Emily of Tucked in Organics) are going to be starting a ROWING challenge which will be a three month challenge in which we will be row-row-rowing away all of the holiday cookie guilt (just kidding, Kate doesn’t eat cookies!) and there are going to be some GREAT prizes.
